Abstract

We report the préliminary results (to date, January 14th 2010) of the epidemic due to the Influenza pandemic strain A/H1N1 “v” based on Lab results, ground epidemiologic data and hospitalized cases. This epidemic showed 3 phases : Pré-epidémic which was the tracking of imported cases at the country borders from may 18th to September 17th when the first grouped case
scholar outbreak was found. Epidemic which started on week 46 and topped on Week 49 and post epidemic which is actually in course from about 3 weeks. Confirmed Lab cases are about 3,500, 900 were hospitalized and 170 needed special unit emergency care units. 24 fatal cases were also confirmed.
Epidemiologic survey will continue until fall April 2010 where a more exhaustive report will be available.
